UHURU/ RUTO ready to name their new CABINET – PLO Lumumba and JIMNAH MBARU on the list
According to sources, Uhuru and Ruto, who are currently relaxing at a private resort in South Coast, have lined up a full Cabinet list which is a mixture of old guards(status quo) and technocrats from the corporate world.
The sources said due to a desire to form a broad-based Cabinet, Mr Kenyatta’s new government of 22 Cabinet Secretaries may be unveiled on April 17, a day after he is officially sworn in — just in case a petition challenging his election is unsuccessful.
Nairobi senator- elect Mike Sonko, who is one of Uhuru’s foot soldier, told journalists on Thursday, that the two leaders have had good consultations on a number of issues, including on the government.
“I am not authorised to say more, but it is true that the President-elect-and his deputy have engaged in dialogue on the future of the country, including the new government,” Sonko stated.
Among the new entries of the Uhuru/Ruto’s Cabinet is former member of Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IEBC) Davis Chirchir, former Anti-graft czar PLO Lumumba and billionaire Jimnah Mbaru.
Uhuru and Ruto have been on record saying their government will comprise of notable technocrats who are able to transform the country from third world status to second world status.
