REVEALED: AL-SHABAAB wanted to kill UHURU KENYATTA and RAILA ODINGA before the March 4th election – Kenyan Online Newspaper 2013

President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, were among top Kenyan leaders targeted by Somalia militia group, Al-Shabab, to be assassinated as revenge for Kenya Defence Forces invading Somali land.

In an elaborate master plan intended to achieve maximum effect and teach Kenya “a lifetime lesson”, the schemers of the Al-Shabab militia group, planned to assassinate the two Kenyan leaders at the peak of their presidential campaigns.
According to former Director-General of the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Uhuru and Raila were to be assassinated in massive bomb blast attacks during their huge campaign rallies across the country.
Details of Uhuru and Raila’s executions were contained in a laptop owned by Al Shabaab leader, Fazul Mohammed, who was gunned down in June 2011 by Somali’s Secret Service.
Fiqi said the plan was hatched one year before the March 4th election on how to eliminate the two Kenyan leaders to revenge Kenya’s invasion into Somalia to flush out terrorists.
“Although President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, are not mentioned directly as targets of the attacks, the schemers had plotted one year ahead of the General Election with a view to targeting two leading politicians in the campaigns,” he said.
To cement Fiqi‘s assertions, Kenyan authorities said indeed there were plans to assassinate the two leaders saying they beefed up security to prevent the killings.
“We are heavily indebted to Fiqi, who is well known to my boss (Michael Gichangi), for sharing this particular report with Kenyan authorities, including specific target areas and hideouts of the Al-shaabab operatives,” a statement from Kenya’s Secret Service said.
